Opereer je Wii met Datel’s Drive Doctor

Met de Drive Doctor van [tag]Datel[/tag] zal het binnenkort voor amateur pogrammeurs en andere techneuten mogelijk zijn om je PC met je [tag]Wii[/tag] te verbinden via een USB kabel. Zo zal je de status van je Wii-console kunnen checken en data kunnen toevoegen aan de software. Ook homebrew applicaties zullen kunnen gebruikt worden dankzij dit nuftig apparaatje. Het enige probleem is dat je dit kleine kastje achteraan je Wii moet solderen, enige handigheid is dus zeker vereist als je die mooie Wii niet wil verpesten. Dit [tag]accessoire[/tag] zal in Amerika voor $34,95 verkocht worden, een Europese prijs is nog niet bekend.

The Drive Doctor is pitched as a "straightforward way for amateur programmers and techie tinkerers to get inside the game." With the mod in place, users can hook their Wii to a PC with a USB cable, allowing them to monitor the system's status and add data to running software. Datel's homebrew and cheat tools usually boast low barriers to entry, making them accessible to even the most inexperienced users, but installing the Drive Doctor will require soldering. We've never been too keen on voiding our consoles' warranties, so hearing that requirement was enough to scare us away. Until something cheap and hassle-free comes along, we're going to live a boring, risk-free life with our unmodded Wiis.
